We never store or have access to your plain-text password. We also retrieve your email address, account creation date, and premium status from your DepotBox account.
• Session Information: We use session cookies to keep you logged into the application. This is essential for accessing premium features and for a seamless user experience. These cookies are stored locally on your machine within the launcher's data folder.
• Usage & Log Data: When you download a game bypass or a depot, we log this activity. The log includes your username, the filename of the downloaded content, and your IP address. This information is used for security, monitoring service usage, and abuse prevention.
• Local Configuration Files: The launcher creates local JSON files on your computer inside `%APPDATA%\DepotBoxLauncher` (or equivalent on other OSes). These files store the installation paths of your bypassed games and installed depots. This information is stored only on your local machine and is never transmitted to our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To authenticate your account and verify your access rights (e.g., Premium status).
• To provide the core functionality of the Service, such as downloading bypasses and depots.
• To monitor the health and security of our services and prevent abuse.
• To provide you with a personalized experience by remembering your local game paths.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We only share a limited set of data with third-party services essential for our operation:

• Discord: Download notifications, which include your username and IP address, are sent to a private administrator's Discord server via a webhook. This is solely for monitoring service health, usage statistics, and identifying potential abuse.

Your local configuration files are never shared with us or any third party.

4. Data Security

We implement security measures to protect your data. All communication between the launcher and our API is encrypted via HTTPS. Passwords are never stored in plain text and are always hashed using modern, secure algorithms (bcrypt). However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have control over your information:

• You can log out of the launcher at any time, which clears your active session.
• You can manually delete the local configuration files stored in the `%APPDATA%\DepotBoxLauncher` folder to remove all tracked game paths.
• You can request the deletion of your DepotBox account through our main website or by contacting support on our Discord server.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
